  3. Success: Horizontal natural gas separator/scrubber

Horizontal filter vessel for natural gasWe recently worked with a natural gas company in the midwest that had some underground storage facilities and a compressor station that had a problem with sludge. They believed that the contaminants were iron sulfide and compressor oil. To help them solve their problem we provided them with a new horizontal separator/scrubber to utilize in their pigging operations. This vessel was rated for 750 PSIG @ 120° F and can handle a gas flow rate of 2,500-4,500 MMSCFH. It included a 304 stainless steel vane/mesh pad and a 20” 600# manway flange that they could use for cleaning and removal of the sludge. The liquid removal efficiency was 99% ≥ 10µm. Although our account here is brief, there were many hands that went into the achievement of this success story. We are grateful to have such a talented team.
